New Hampshire’s White Mountains are known world-wide for it’s brilliant fall foliage but there are many reasons to visit this area throughout the year! This region is also home to Mt. Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast, and the White Mountain National Forest. Both provide spectacular scenery to enjoy while driving, hiking, biking, canoeing, golfing or skiing, and nearly endless opportunities for outdoor recreation including over 450 km of cross country ski trails to explore. You’ll find many of these activities and more within a 30-minute drive of the inn.
Along with outdoor concerts, summer theatre, and tax-free shopping at hundreds of name-brand outlets, boutiques, craft and antique shops and galleries, this area has been a popular vacation destination for over 200 years. Summer Fun
Over 1200 miles of non-motorized trail to explore in the 800,000 acre White Mountain National Forest. Golfers have 135 holes to play within 30 minutes of the inn. There’s biking, kayaking, fly fishing and so much more. Read more about our Summer Fun.

- Wildquack River Festival – “Rubber Ducky Race” in Jackson – Memorial Day Weekend
- Fryeburg Fair – Maine’s Blue Ribbon Classic, the largest and oldest country fair in the Northeast – late September/early October
- Return of the Pumpkin People – festive Pumpkin People appear throughout the Valley during the first 3 weeks of October.
Winter Fun
